Kalpisaki storm hits Lama in Bandarban.

On Thursday (May 2) at 3:30 p.m., the hour-long storm destroyed at least a thousand homes. More than 30 power poles were broken, and power was cut off in many places due to falling trees and falling on electrical wires.

PDB resident engineer Lamar said residents:

It is known that one municipality and seven unions in the upazila were more or less destroyed in all the districts due to the Kalpuishakhi storm. Small and large buildings in all guilds were partially destroyed.

Apart from this,

five goats of a farmer died due to lightning in the Vaidyavita 2nd ward area of Rupsipara Union, and five goats of a farmer died after a house burial in member Ramzan Ali’s farm in Shilertua East district.

Rupsipara UP Chaching chief Pru Marma said last night’s Kalbaisakhi storm destroyed more than two hundred houses in my union and killed six goats in Vaidyavita and East Shilerutua districts. Communication was lost due to falling trees.

I have cut down trees and normalized communication with residents since the morning. All people have suffered in one way or another. Those whose homes were destroyed will be assisted by the Union Parishad.

The list will be sent to the Bandarban District Commissioner on Lama Ono’s recommendation. If allocated, compensation will be awarded, taking into account the loss. Most victims were given dry food.

Lama Uno Muhammad Kamrul Islam Chowdhury said that many houses in all unions were destroyed due to a strong tornado of Kalpisakhi winds. Several sites were visited. Government grants will be arranged if the UP president lists those affected.
