A fire destroyed at least 11 shops in Sakipur, Tangail. The incident took place at Inderjani Bazar of Kakrajan Union in Upazila around 6 pm on Friday.
Around 8 pm,
two units of fire services from Sakipur and Ghatil were able to bring the fire under control after two hours of effort. But before that, the dreams of businessmen Yusuf Mia, Rafiqul Islam Alamgir Hussain, Afsar Uddin, and Manan Mia were reduced to ashes.
According to eyewitnesses and business sources,
the fire broke out at the Yusuf Mia petrol station in Inderjani Bazar around 6 pm on Friday. As the tents were lined up and made of tin, the fire quickly spread to neighboring stores. Immediately after receiving information, a force from the Skypur Fire Department reached the spot and started working to control the fire.

A unit from the Ghatil Fire Department and Civil Defense also joined. The fire was controlled after work, which lasted an hour and a half. A witness, Hafeezur Rahman, said that the functioning of that market revolved around the burnt shops. The fire destroyed at least 11 stores. Among these stores are wholesale shops for products such as petrol and monohari.
Sutur Fire and Civil Defense Service officer Lovelo Tarafdar said the extent of the damage could not be determined at this time.
